A tradition is in the making! On November 5, the Friends’ Board, and the Library Trustees gathered for our annual potluck dinner. Library Building Consultant Mary Braney facilitated a lively discussion about the library’s future and challenged us to visualize a new space that will engage more of the community and make the library a destination for children, teens, adults and families. Library Director Nancy Ryan envisions a library that is a “comfortable, engaging place and a cultural center.” Friend’s member Karin Round promoted integrating modern technology with separate dedicated areas and efficient services (i.e. automated check-ins, check-outs). Trustee Bob Calamari looks to our library to take a “digital leadership” role, helping make “E” materials easily accessible across towns, cities and networks. The evening was definitely one of lively and collaborative discussion!
