The Friends’ annual used book sale is on Saturday, October 19 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Meeting House. The “bag of books for $6.00 sale” will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A Preview for Friends’ members only will be at 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm on Friday, October 18 and all Friends members will be welcome at that time.  However, those Friends purchasing for resale will be welcome to purchase from 7:00 to 8:00 pm only.

The Friends are seeking donations of hardcover non-fiction, small and large fiction and non-fiction paperbacks, DVDs, music CDs and all children and young adult materials for this annual fall event.  We cannot accept VHS tapes, textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest Condensed collections or magazines.

Bring your boxed or bagged donations to the Library Circulation Desk or leave them in the library foyer.  It would be most helpful for the staff if you could leave your boxes and bags! The library is accepting donations of materials right up until the sale.  If dropping off the books is not possible for you, we offer home pick-ups.  Please call Stan Schantz at 781.477.9724 to arrange a pick up.  Stan will be happy to provide a receipt for your donation.

According to Friends’ President Janine Saldanha, “The Library is a tremendous resource for Lynnfield residents, young and old. The Friends raise substantial funds that enable the library to offer museum passes and rental DVDs and support all children, teen and adult programming.  Book sales are our major source of funding, and we ask you to please keep this in mind when you make your book donations.”

Would you like to help out at the sale or in other ways? Please contact Janine Saldanha at 781.334.2046.  Thank you for supporting the Friends of the Lynnfield Library!
