The Executive Board of the Friends of the Lynnfield Library cordially invite all members of the organization and members of the Lynnfield Community to attend our Annual Meeting on Monday, June 13th at 6:30 p.m. on the Mezzanine at the Library. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Friends, meet members of the Board of Directors and learn about volunteer opportunities. Light refreshments will be served and there will be time to socialize with “Friends”, both new and old. A brief business meeting will be held starting at 7:15 p.m.
Founded in 1960, Friends of the Lynnfield Library provides funding for many of the programs that are popular in this community – the Museum Pass Program, DVDs for rental, Bill Sano’s music programs and funding for eBooks to name a few. The Friends are able to do all of this through our Fall and Spring Used Book Sales and fundraising events, such as last fall’s successful “Laughter in the Lynnfield Library”.
The backbone of our financial support is the generous response from the community to our Annual Appeal. May is our traditional month for making this appeal, but we encourage people to join whenever they are able. Membership forms are available at the Library and available on our website: www.foll.org.
The Lynnfield Library is a vibrant gathering spot serving an average of 300 patrons daily and sponsoring almost 300 programs a year for adults and children. It is a member of NOBLE (North of Boston Library Exchange), which allows access to resources from 28 area libraries. Please come and visit soon!
